Sewing Class debuts next week at Camp Twin Lakes. Lots of great projects while you learn a lifelong skill!
Hopefully you are ready to stay busy, because here at Camp Twin Lakes, there’s no time for boredom, we’ll keep you busy in the greatest of ways. While no two days are exactly the same at Camp Twin Lakes, we do follow a set schedule, giving campers a sense of structure and routine around which to plan their fun. Each day is filled with new adventures and endless opportunities to enjoy your summer!
At chapel each morning, the whole camp comes together to take part in stories, skits and songs that highlight the day’s core value. We follow chapel with flag-raising.
Campers take turns serving as “hoppers,” who are tasked with setting the table and preparing the dining hall for each meal. Meals are served family-style and are a great time for songs, chants and announcements. After breakfast, it’s time for cabin
clean-up. The campers with the cleanest cabin are rewarded with a special program at week’s end.
Campers choose three instructional camp activities to fill the morning. Choices include things like canoeing, climbing, art, fishing, music and archery.
After lunch, campers have a little free time to relax in their cabins. Afternoon activities are camper’s choice and include options such as team sports, swimming, the 100-foot Wet Willie water slide, drama and more.
After dinner, campers spend a little time with their cabin-mates readying for the evening activities, which bring the whole camp together for campfires, skit and talent nights, sunset cinema, special themed events and more.
After evening activities, campers retire to their cabins where counselors lead cabin chats to reflect on the day’s experiences. The cabin then gets ready for bed and at 10:00, it’s lights out.
Campers stay in single-gender cabins with two camp counselors. Our cabins are brand new and feature modern restrooms and air conditioning. Most of the weekly schedule takes place with the cabin group — same-gender, similar-aged groups that travel around camp together under the guidance of camp counselors trying different camp activities.
Our activities are “Challenge by Choice,” which simply means that we create an environment where campers are encouraged to push themselves to try each activity. While activities are important, the real benefits of life at Camp Twin Lakes come from the character development, guidance and encouragement to help kids develop and realize their potential.
