Pennies For Peggie is gaining momentum
In a world where kids spend more and more time inside playing video games or surfing the Internet, it’s becoming increasingly important for them to have opportunities to unplug and spend time outside. Doing so helps cultivate the values, skills and relationships that lead to better physical and emotional health and higher achievement. That’s what a week at Camp Twin Lakes is all about.
All activities at Camp Twin Lakes are led by trained staff members who always have your child’s well-being at heart. For example, all water sports are led by YMCA-certified lifeguards and trained support staff, while the high ropes course is supervised by our high-ropes-certified staff. More than just fun ways to spend a summer day, all activities serve to reinforce our core values and strengthen relationships between campers and staff.
Kids today need the camp experience more than ever. Every day brings something new, exciting and challenging; like the power of a positive mentor, the confidence that comes from trying … then succeeding, and the importance of healthy, long-lasting friendships.
Rising with the sun instead of sleeping until noon. Physical activity that encompasses the whole body — not just the thumbs. Stretching comfort zones and building confidence in ways a trip to the mall never could. The shared warmth of new friendships rather than the isolation of days spent online. At Camp Twin Lakes, we give campers the chance to reconnect with the simple joys of being a kid. Swimming, hiking, slip-and-sliding.
Team sports and lone accomplishments. Being silly and being brave. We provide a safe, supportive and fun environment filled with new activities every day. The counselors provide the spark. And while each camper’s overall stay will be unique, they’ll all enjoy one common experience: the chance to discover who they are and what they can achieve — on their own terms — all in the great outdoors.
